Celebrating 6 Years of AFB!

If contemplating the fact we're less than a month away from entering a new decade isn't enough, I'm also here thinking about how I've been able to keep this blog up and running for 6 years straight now! Regardless of how long crazy old me has been keeping this blog going, I wouldn't change the last 6 years for anything. I've loved every moment of running this blog, talking to other retail and supermarket fans, and venturing out into various parts of my wonderfully weird home state to see some of the best, strangest, rarest, fanciest, and even dumpiest and most decrepit stores out there, and there's still plenty I haven't seen yet! I have to give a big thank you to all my readers, both new and old, for your patronage to the blog, as well as for putting up with all my rambling for another year! 2019 was a fun year, and hopefully 2020 will be just as good if not better. Keep scrolling down to see this year's recap of the stores we've visited, as well as the usual blog trivia. Below this post you'll find today's feature post, which continues on with my journey to Jacksonville and a fun former Albertsons store complete with plenty of relics from the past.

Thanks again to everyone for making 2019 a great year for AFB, and for helping the blog reach over 410,000 page views to date! Not only is AFB turning 6 years old this year, but our sister site, My Florida Retail, turned 1 year old this past November. My Florida Retail is where you can find my coverage of other Floridian retail, ranging from discounters to malls to the supermarkets that don't make the cut for an AFB post. Not only will you find my content on there, but also the content of four other contributors wanting to share their stories of Florida retail with all of you. Be sure to check out My Florida Retail, as there's just as much to see there as there is on here!

Keep scrolling down for more, and let the adventures continue on the blog for many more years to come! Enjoy!

  2. Happy blogiversary, AFB! I've enjoyed the ride so far, and look forward to seeing all your new content in the future :) Oh, and I think it's very cool how you wrote the blog's name in the Albertsons font in that collage!

    1. Thanks! I've had that font on my computer for a while, and now seemed like a good time to try it out on something blog related!

  3. Happy anniversary, Extra reminder, there's a Georgia Publix that still has 1.0 markers. It's in Macon and the store number is 471

    1. Thanks! A lot of Classy Market 2.0 and 2.5 stores carried over the 1.0 signs if those were already in place, as the ones used in 2.0 and 2.5 weren't that much different. However, with those decor packages becoming increasingly rare, seeing the 1.0 aisle markers is certainly a throwback these days!
