One thing I've noticed about these Winn-Dixie closings is that they sell through all their merchandise pretty fast. The same thing happened when the West Melbourne store closed a few years ago, and that store closed over a week early than originally planned. Certainly an interesting yet sad situation with this store.

If the owners of this plaza do own the decor, and insist on keeping it in place, it will be interesting to see what, if anything, ever happens to this building. It's a hard sell to find a new tenant who will be happy with pagodas and a moat in the middle of the salesfloor! With how expensive cards are these days, as 98% off, you might as well stock up for every birthday coming up for the next two years! Greeting cards seem like a tough item to get rid of during a liquidation, so someone had the right idea here!Albertsons Florida Bloghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17350708223049245195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-628100700550321985.post-77555814226500893072019-04-03T11:51:47.969-04:002019-04-03T11:51:47.969-04:00Sorry to hear you weren't able to make it back...Sorry to hear you weren't able to make it back here, but I'm glad Reviewer Jay sent in these photos! It's amazing to see the store so empty, so soon into the sale. With that added information about the owners and the décor, this closure begins to make more sense. So does the bit about Winn-Dixie not honoring any circulars here, although that sounds like their own doing - and not the smartest decision, at that!

Hopefully this store will gain a new operator soon, with all the unique décor left intact if that story is to be believed. And as a side note... great discount on those greeting cards indeed! Those things never seem to be discounted much (I always assumed a vendor came back and picked them all up, hence the sale price is never high). I would've stocked up for sure!Retail Retellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12636351832804174132noreply@blogger.com
